Position Summary


The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a 9-month Instructor (generalist) with a focus in elementary education to begin August 2025.


Duties/Responsibilities


Responsibilities include teaching education content and methods courses for preservice elementary teachers and engaging in professional and university service activities.


Required Knowledge and Skills


A Master's degree in Education with a focus on elementary education or closely related field is required along with a minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching experience in a P-6 classroom setting.

About the Department


The faculty member is expected to teach courses designed for education majors at the undergraduate level and engage in service-related activities including participation in departmental, college, and university committees and professional organizations. Although some courses are taught in distance education formats, applicants should expect an on-campus presence throughout their employment term.

The Department of Teacher Education offers undergraduate degree programs in early childhood education, elementary education, and special education, along with licensure programs in secondary education. The Department also offers a spectrum of Master of Science in Education degree programs, along with an Ed.D. program in educational leadership.
