The RN - Patient Educator is responsible for the patient education process involving identification of protocol, management of protocol requirements, precertification, establishment of dosages, and patient teaching on treatment regimes. The Patient Educator has an additional level of advancement based upon the obtainment of certain competencies that allow the individual expanded functionality within the department. These functions will be carried out in order to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within the scope of the role.
Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred. One year of Critical Care, Oncology, Neonatal, or L&D experience preferred.
