Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee is seeking an instructor to teach Diesel and Powertrain Servicing courses and to develop related curriculum. The role involves delivering classroom and shop instruction, maintaining safety standards, and serving as a resource for students and faculty.
Minimum qualifications include an associate degree or technical diploma with Diesel/Automotive experience, plus teaching or recent industry experience.

Under the supervision of the Dean, this instructor will teach assigned classroom and shop courses for the Diesel and Powertrain Servicing Technical Diploma program. Duties include development and teaching of all Diesel and Powertrain Servicing courses. The instructor should be able to explain theory, demonstrate proper servicing techniques, and facilitate student learning of the course objectives.
Serves as a resource person to Diesel and Powertrain Servicing students and faculty, complies with and reinforces safety and service standards, and serves as a model of professionalism that students may identify with. In addition, this position also provides Diesel Department leadership in maintaining SAE (Society for Automotive Engineering), supporting student engagement, recruiting, and other college initiatives related to this program.

This position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway and is available to start in the Fall Semester.
This is a full‑time (32 hours) position serving multiple campuses. Work is conducted during scheduled course hours, Monday – Friday. Hours vary based on departmental needs. Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin; performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited.

Salary is listed to the midpoint of the salary range and is based on the 2025/2026 rates. Salary determination will be based on years of credited experience listed on the job application and internal salary equity.
