Universal Technical Institute, Inc. seeks a Diesel Instructor to guide students through diesel engines and diagnostics. You’ll lead hands-on demonstrations, develop and refine courses, and mentor learners toward successful careers.

This role emphasizes safety, practical knowledge, and industry-relevant teaching in a dynamic campus setting. The ideal candidate brings 5 years of diesel experience, a strong communication style, and a patient, empathetic approach to student growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 5 years of practical diesel experience.
• ASE certifications are valued and may be paid for if needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient and empathetic teaching approach.

Position Overview

Position Overview: As a Diesel Instructor, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the minds and skills of our students. Your expertise in diesel engines, diagnostics, and repair will be the guiding light that leads them to a promising career in many different industries. What You'll Do

• Inspire and Educate: Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can flourish, fostering their passion for diesel mechanics while imparting your expert knowledge.
• Hands-On Training: Lead by example and provide practical demonstrations, ensuring students gain real-world experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines.
• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with our education team to enhance existing courses and develop new ones that align with industry trends and advancements.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor students on their individual projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
• Safety First: Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students.

What You'll Bring

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: 5 years of practical work experience in the field
• Certifications: ASEs or T-Series are highly valued, but if not current, we will pay for you to obtain (Heavy/Medium/Light Duty trucks)
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively connect with students and fellow staff
• Patience and Empathy: A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, understanding that every student learns at their own pace
