Forsyth Tech is seeking adjunct faculty to teach Art Appreciation courses in person on our main campus in Winston Salem, NC and at our Stokes Center in Stokes County, NC. These classes will include an online/asynchronous component, so preferred applicants should have experience in asynchronous instruction and experience using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas.

Applicants must have an MFA or terminal degree in their field, and experience teaching college level courses.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Masters Degree or higher in Fine Arts.
  • Experience teaching Art Appreciation or Art History at college level.
  • Willing to travel and teach on main campus and off-campus sites.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Art Appreciation courses in person on main campus in Winston-Salem, NC and at Stokes Center in Stokes County, NC.
  • Deliver online/asynchronous components via Canvas or other LMS.
  • Maintain college records including attendance and grades.
  • Prepare and administer exams and activities.
  • Comply with college policies and participate in department activities.

Forsyth Tech is seeking adjunct faculty to teach Art Appreciation courses in person on our main campus in Winston Salem, NC and at our Stokes Center in Stokes County, NC. Applicants must have an MFA or terminal degree in their field, and experience teaching college level courses. Community College teaching experience preferred. Please attach your unofficial transcripts for your terminal degree in the application.

  • Must have a Masters Degree or higher in Fine Arts

  • Must have experience teaching Art Appreciation or Art History

  • Must be willing to travel and teach on main campus

  • Experience teaching asynchronously

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the department chairperson and approved by the dean.

  • Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records, including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.

  • Make recommendations to Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.

  • Construct, administer, and grade examinations.

  • Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College.

  • Model an understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy and mission.
