91E30 – Allied Trades Specialist Instructor- Advanced Leader Course

Location: Fort Lee, Virginia/Fort Walker, Virginia

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Allied Trades Specialist Instructor provides Advanced Leader Course Phase 2 instruction for MOS 91E30 personnel. The instructor delivers technical, tactical, hands-on, and Professional Military Education in accordance with Army doctrine, TRADOC requirements, CASCOM procedures, Ordnance School standards, and the approved Program of Instruction.

Responsibilities

ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED.

• Deliver classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction for MOS 91E30 ALC Phase 2.
• Teach approved technical, tactical, and PME course content.
• Prepare, operate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair applicable training equipment and instructional aids.
• Administer and evaluate written and practical examinations.
• Maintain required MOS, ASI, technical, tactical, and instructor certifications.
• Maintain student records and required training documentation.
• Develop, review, and update lesson plans, course materials, manuals, and training aids as assigned.
• Coordinate training requirements and resources with Government personnel.
• Use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and required electronic training systems.
• Perform assigned duties independently with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

• Active SECRET security clearance required.
• Qualified in MOS 91E30, Allied Trades Specialist.
• Graduate of 91E Advanced Leader Course Phase 2.
• Minimum two years of experience as an Allied Trade Team Leader.
• Allied Trade Senior Badge.
• Minimum four years of prior military service with an honorable discharge, or current service as a National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve Warrant Officer or Senior Noncommissioned Officer.
• Completed ALC and SLC for the MOS being instructed, or the applicable Warrant Officer Basic Course for a feeder MOS.
• Qualified to instruct assigned ALC and SLC course content.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to use required electronic training tools.
• Basic mathematics proficiency, including roots, powers, and metric notation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

Technical And Tactical Requirements

When applicable to assigned course content, candidates must:

• Have at least four years of prior military service and have been honorably discharged, or currently serve as a National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve Warrant Officer or Senior Noncommissioned Officer.
• Be certified in the applicable MOS or feeder MOS before beginning instruction.
• Possess required ASI training, including H8 or H9 when applicable.
• Meet all technical and tactical certification requirements for assigned courses.
• Understand applicable Army regulations and doctrine.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair applicable training equipment.
• Pass required written and hands‑on examinations before providing instruction in accordance with OD Regulation 350-18.

For tracked-vehicle instruction, candidates must have at least three years of applicable technical and tactical experience using Maintenance Support Device V2, V3, and V4 when available.

General Instructor Qualifications

• Meet all applicable qualifications established under the ITSD2 Base Contract.
• Meet the instructor certification requirements identified in TRADOC Regulation 350-1, the CASCOM Certification Standard Operating Procedure, and the ODS Standard Operating Procedure.
• Possess outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Be detail-oriented and possess excellent organization, planning, coordination, and time-management skills.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Be able to access and use all required electronic training tools.
• Possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development credential.
• Demonstrate competency in basic mathematics, including roots, powers, and metric notation.

Selected Instructors Must Obtain

• Be able to obtain TRADOC Initial Military Training Installation Staff and Contractors Training Course certification.
• Complete ISCTC at the next available Government‑designated course start date, subject to space availability.
• Be able to obtain Common Faculty Development–Instructor Course certification.
• Complete CFD-IC at the next available Government‑designated course start date, subject to space availability.

Required courses must be completed at the next available Government‑designated course date, subject to availability.

Preferred Qualification

Three or more years of experience teaching, developing, or reviewing military or vocational training materials related to MOS 91E.

Selected personnel must complete required Government training, including:

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Lift and carry tools, equipment, materials, and components weighing up to 100 pounds when required.
• Stand, sit, or walk for up to eight hours per day.
• Work in classrooms, offices, warehouses, shops, buildings, and designated training areas.
• Conduct outdoor instruction when required.
• Occasionally work outdoors in inclement weather.
