Instructor at a Homeschool Resource Center

The Bridge Learning Community is seeking passionate, creative, and collaborative instructors to teach classes in our new Homeschool Resource Center launching in Fall 2026.

We are building a relationship-centered learning community that supports homeschool families, alternative learners, and local public school students through engaging, mixed-age classes rooted in curiosity, creativity, and experiential learning.

Instructors at The Bridge have the opportunity to design and teach classes aligned with their passions, expertise, and teaching style in an environment free from grades, standardized testing, and rigid curriculum requirements.

About the Role

Instructors create engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, collaboration, creativity, and confidence. Classes are one hour long, meet once a week, and may include academic subjects, arts, STEM, life skills, physical education, enrichment, and more. For every hour in class instructors get two hours of paid prep and administrative time. There are up to five class slots a day available, two days a week.

We welcome educators, artists, makers, professionals, tradespeople, mentors, and community members with experience working with youth and a passion for sharing their knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Design or choose curriculum for courses
  • Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction
  • Foster collaborative and inclusive classroom environments
  • Support mixed-age, learner-driven education
  • Communicate and collaborate with families and staff
  • Prepare materials and maintain organized classroom spaces
  • Complete basic administrative responsibilities such as attendance tracking
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings

Program Philosophy

The Bridge Learning Community believes learning happens through curiosity, relationships, meaningful experiences, and active engagement with the world. Our classes emphasize project-based, experiential, and interest-driven learning while creating spaces where young people feel safe to explore, ask questions, take risks, and authentically be themselves.

Schedule & Compensation
  • Classes take place Wednesdays and Fridays during 10-week fall, winter, and spring sessions
  • Additional opportunities for leading clubs may be available
  • Compensation is provided on a per-class basis
