Job summary

RTS seeks dedicated staff to lead after-school sessions and summer programs for NYC youth. You will teach engaging 1-hour lessons, creatively integrating academics and skill-building into daily activities.

Plan, document, and coordinate with Education Specialist and Site Director to ensure quality instruction and safe, welcoming environments. Qualified candidates hold a teaching credential or degree, have strong communication and organizational abilities, and demonstrate commitment to youth

Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in teaching field is required.
  • Strong communication, punctuality, and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Experience with school-age programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and lead 1-hour sessions in your field.
  • Incorporate academics into lesson plans.
  • Plan bi-weekly lesson plans for Education Specialist approval.
  • Provide lesson plans to group leaders before classroom implementation.
  • Demonstrate time management and organization in a classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain order and participation.
  • Ensure participant safety throughout instruction.
  • Communicate schedule/behavior changes with Site Director.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by supervisors.
