Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Instructor to support our JPRA program in Fredericksburg, VA. The role delivers full spectrum personnel recovery education to PR professionals within DoD, USG, and coalition partners using in-resident, mobile, and virtual methods.

You will observe and train combatant command exercises as part of the Chairman’s exercise program, requiring active Secret clearance and related qualifications.

Qualifications

• Active Secret US Government Clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
• Bachelor's degree in a related subject or equivalent work experience.
• Previous platform instructor experience; civilian or military academic instructor courses.
• Strong PR background: CSAR, NAR, C2, or intelligence support to PR.
• Staff experience in joint operations and planning processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct joint PR education and training courses through in-resident, mobile training team, and virtual platforms using synchronous and asynchronous modes and methods.
• Support Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and Combatant Command level exercises with exercise control group and observer trainer duties.
• Achieves and maintains qualifications and skills per applicable operating instructions.
• Develop training programs including outlines, text, handouts, lesson plans, training aids, practical exercises, and tests; assist in advanced training concepts and supporting plans.
• Provide research, analysis, and advice to DoD, USG, and coalition customers relevant to PR products, tasks, publications, regulations, and other documents.

You will act as an observer and trainer to combatant command training exercises as part of the Chairman’s exercise program.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert, supporting the development of training programs including outlines, text, handouts, lesson plans, training aids, practical exercises, and tests; assists in the developing of advanced training concepts and supporting plans.
• Provide research, analysis, and advice to DoD, USG, and coalition customers relevant to PR products, tasks, publications, regulations, and other documents.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have an active Secret US Government Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in a related subject or equivalent work experience.
• Previous platform instructor experience, including attendance in civilian or military academic instructor courses.
• Strong background in one or more facets of PR including CSAR, NAR, C2, or intelligence support to PR.
• Previous staff experience (or working knowledge) in joint operations, joint functions/concepts, and joint planning processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background knowledge of DoD and related interagency policies, regulations, doctrine, and other PR related documents.
• Background knowledge of unconventional warfare and non-conventional assisted recovery plans and operations.
• Working knowledge of the principles of adult education.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

Compensation Details

• $48 - $49.50
