DoDEA HQ Education Directorate seeks an Instructional Systems Specialist to advance PK-12 professional learning programs. You will apply instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create content and policies, ensuring alignment with district and state standards.
One year of specialized experience in PK-12 education is required; you will work under the PK-12 above school level framework and contribute to planning and development of curriculum and evaluation tools.
This position falls under the DoDEA HQ Education Directorate - Student Services Division - located at the Mark Center Building in Alexandria, VA. Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas:
NOTE: You are required to submit ALL TRANSCRIPTS with at a minimum, your bachelor's degree. Your Master's, EDS, Doctorate etc. may need to be submitted as well if they must be used to meet the education requirement. If you do not provide this, your application WILL be rejected.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
One year of specialized experience developing professional learning programs for PK-12 educators; applying instructional design principles and/or adult learning theories to create professional learning content; developing standardized professional learning policies; and providing structured guidance in the planning and development of PK-12 professional learning curriculum. All qualifying experience must have been gained while serving full time in a PK-12 above school level role (e.g., district, state, central office). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service or equivalent (GS-12).
NOTE: If your resume doesn't clearly describe this experience, your application WILL be rejected. One year is defined as 365 days or 52 weeks of full-time experience, whichever comes sooner.
