Job summary

Sellers and Associates, LLC is seeking an Instructional Systems Specialist to support the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of Navy training and education programs. The successful candidate will apply instructional systems design principles, emerging learning technologies, and DoD training requirements to develop effective, technically accurate training solutions.

The role requires a MID experience level, a Secret clearance, and Groton, CT location with 0-10% travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS, IT or related field.
  • Minimum of five years managing or supporting an educational design and development project.
  • Minimum of two years professional experience supporting a Navy/DoD contract.
  • Experience in design, development, and analysis of training programs or systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with government customers and instructors.

Responsibilities

  • Support analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of Navy training programs.
  • Apply instructional design methodologies and DoD training processes to training solutions.
  • Conduct learning analyses to identify performance gaps and objectives.
  • Develop and revise curricula, courseware, lesson plans, assessments, and docs.
  • Coordinate with government personnel, instructors, SMEs, and stakeholders.

Instructional Systems Specialist

Full Time Groton, CT, US

Sellers and Associates, LLC is seeking an Instructional Systems Specialist to support the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of Navy training and education programs. The successful candidate will apply instructional systems design principles, emerging learning technologies, and Department of Defense training requirements to develop effective, technically accurate, and mission-focused training solutions.

Experience Level:MID

Location: Groton, CT

Travel:0 - 10%

Clearance: Secret

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of Navy training and educational programs.
  • Apply instructional systems design methodologies and Navy training development processes to create and maintain effective training solutions.
  • Conduct training and learning analyses to identify performance requirements, knowledge and skill gaps, learning objectives, and appropriate instructional strategies.
  • Develop, review, and revise instructional materials, curricula, courseware, lesson plans, assessments, and supporting training documentation.
  • Coordinate with Government personnel, instructors, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to ensure training products accurately reflect operational and technical requirements.
  • Support training modernization initiatives and identify opportunities to improve instructional effectiveness, accessibility, and delivery.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of instructional products to ensure compliance with applicable Navy and DoD standards and requirements.
  • Support configuration management and maintenance of training products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, status updates, and other program documentation as required.
  • Ensure training materials are developed and handled in accordance with applicable security, classification, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or another related computer/technical field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing or supporting an educational design and development project.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience supporting a contract for the U.S. Navy, Department of Defense, or another DoD agency.
  • Demonstrated experience with the design, development, and analysis of programs or systems related to training systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with Government customers, technical personnel, instructors, and subject matter experts.
Preferred
  • Experience using Learning Analysis and Design (LEAD).
  • Experience supporting Navy training modernization or instructional systems development efforts.
  • Knowledge of Navy training development processes, standards, and documentation.
  • Experience with derivative classification requirements.
  • Experience identifying, handling, and marking Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Experience applying portion markings and Security Classification Guides (SCGs).
  • Familiarity with Navy training environments, commands, and organizational structures.
