Job summary

The Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) supports the Academic Development Branch by designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs, eLearning content, multimedia products, and training materials. The ADDIE framework guides creation of engaging learning experiences that support Air Force education and training missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Educational Design, or related field, or five years of ISD experience.
• Experience in at least two areas: learning theory/psychology, instructional design methodologies, educational assessment/evaluation, or product development/validation.
• Proficiency with modern instructional technologies: Adobe Captivate, SCORM, VR, simulation, gaming, and 3D modeling tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The position applies instructional design best practices and the ADDIE methodology to create effective, engaging learning experiences that support Air Force education and training missions.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Educational Design, or a related field, or five years of applied experience in Instructional Systems Design (ISD).
• Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas:
  • Learning theory and educational psychology
  • Instructional design methodologies
  • Educational assessment and evaluation
  • Instructional product development and validation
• Proficiency with modern instructional technologies, including Adobe Captivate, SCORM-compliant courseware, virtual reality, simulation, gaming, and 3D modeling tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Educational Design, or a related discipline.
