POSITION SUMMARY:

The District Instructional Support Teacher (K-12) provides differentiated, job-embedded instructional support to teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders at assigned schools based on district tiering designations. The position supports fidelity of implementation, School Targeted Action Plan (STAP) goals and actions, data-informed instruction, principal PLCs, professional learning, and coaching support across K-12 settings. This position reports to the Executive Directors of Academic Implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide differentiated, job-embedded instructional support to teachers at assigned schools based on district tiering designations and identified needs. Support may include collaborative planning, side-side coaching, co-teaching, instructional modeling, observation and feedback, and professional learning aligned to district instructional priorities and adopted resources.

Participate in district and school-based fidelity walks and assist with monitoring STAP goals and actions. Collect and analyze implementation evidence, provide actionable feedback, identify trends and barriers, and coordinate follow-up support with school and district leaders.

Support academic principal PLCs and conduct data-analysis sessions with teachers, instructional coaches, and school leaders. Prepare resources, examine student and implementation data, identify learning needs, determine instructional responses and student groupings, and establish measurable next steps and progress-monitoring actions.

Support school-based instructional coaches through calibration, collaborative planning, coaching-cycle support, resource development, and problem-solving related to teacher practice and implementation barriers.

Monitors and supports the implementation of district initiatives, reinforces applicable literacy practices, and district instructional expectations across content areas.

Maintain accurate calendars, support logs, feedback records, professional-learning artifacts, and evidence of services and impact. Communicate progress, barriers, and recommended next steps to school and district leaders; and perform other duties assigned to support the division and district priorities.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, curriculum and instruction, an academic content area, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience required. Experience in instructional coaching, professional learning, curriculum implementation, school improvement, or teacher leadership preferred.

Actions directly influence the quality and fidelity of instructional implementation, teacher effectiveness, leadership decision‑making, and student learning outcomes across assigned schools.

Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator certificate at the T4 level or higher in the appropriate teaching field required. Additional endorsements, such as Coaching or Teacher Support and Coaching endorsements, certifications, or specialized training relevant to the assigned position preferred.

Exercises independent judgment within district guidelines to prioritize support, analyze data, recommend instructional responses, provide feedback, and adjust services based on evidence of implementation and need.

Maintains frequent communication with Executive Directors, district leaders, principals, assistant principals, instructional coaches, teachers, content specialists, and other district staff.

Communicates as needed with approved professional-learning partners, consultants, state or regional agencies, and community stakeholders in coordination with district leadership.

No direct supervisory responsibility. Demonstrates leadership through influence, facilitation, coaching, collaboration, and support of adult learning and implementation.

Proficiency with district instructional platforms, student data systems, productivity and presentation software, virtual collaboration tools, and digital systems used to document services and monitor implementation.

Responsibility for the Welfare of Others:Constant (Daily) - to exercise the duty of care and protection of the health, safety, security, welfare, well‑being, and best interests of the district's various stakeholders.

Work is performed in district offices and school settings. Frequent travel among assigned schools is required.

The role may involve extended periods of standing, walking, observing instruction, facilitating meetings, and working at a computer. Occasional evening or extended-day professional learning may be required.

Light physical effort. Ability to move throughout schools and classrooms, carry instructional materials and equipment, operate standard office technology.Occasionally lift or transport materials weighing up to approximately 20 lbs.
