Job summary

Devereux Day Academy in Audubon, PA is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to help implement basic educational programming and provide one-on-one support for students with special needs. You will assist teachers and administrators, monitor daily progress, and reinforce PBIS goals in a private K-8 setting.

Being an Instructional Support Specialist at Devereux has its Advantages

You will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. This position will support teacher's direction by providing assistance with academic, social, and behavioral needs of assigned clients. You will assist in the implementation of a basic educational programming and performing duties as directed by the building administrator or classroom teacher inclusive of individual tutoring or one-on-one support for a student with special needs.

Every Day As An Instructional Support Specialist You Will

You Will Be Offered

• Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (52-week year round position)
• Pay rate: $17.50 -$19.95/hr (based upon education and experience)

Devereux Day Academy is a private academic school program located in Norristown, PA. Devereux Day Academy is licensed to serve students in grades K-8 who have been identified with the following primary disabilities: Intellectual Disability, Autism, Emotional Disturbance, Specific Learning Disability, and Speech or Language Impairment. The core curriculum has been aligned with the Pennsylvania Core Standards, as well as the curricula of our partner school districts. This alignment will facilitate smooth transitions to and from the program for your students. The goal of the curriculum is to provide students with learning experiences that foster increased engagement and success through differentiated instruction, evidence-based instructional strategies, and rigorous learning expectations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.
