Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a Teacher Assistant for the Devereux Day School in Audubon, PA. The role focuses on direct behavioral intervention for students within a 52-week program, collaborating with Special Education Teachers to support skill acquisition and behavior reduction.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree (Special Education preferred) and prior experience with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders preferred.
  • Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies to reduce risk in our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure student safety.
  • Assist in establishing classroom environments conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors.
  • Work with Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups.
  • Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by the Special Education Teacher.

The Devereux Day School located in Audubon, PA is seeking a Teacher Assistant to provide direct behavioral intervention to students. * All Teacher Assistant positions are year long 52 week positions*

Every day as a Teacher Assistant you will....

  • Ensure student safety
  • Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
  • Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
  • Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher

You will be offered:

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm
  • $41,600 - $47, 424 annually (based upon experience)

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.
