Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers in classroom activities and student learning across elementary, middle, and high school settings. The IA will assist in delivering instruction, preparing materials, and reinforcing skills under licensed teachers’ guidance.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Apps, and the ability to work with diverse learners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ESSA requirements fulfilled for Title I schools.
• Experience or coursework in childhood education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional activities and materials.
• Support safe, encouraging classroom environment.
• Plan with teachers and adapt strategies for students.
• Monitor student progress and assist groups as needed.
• Participate in district staff development and growth.
