Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District seeks an entry-level Paraprofessional Aide to support certified teachers in daily classroom activities. You will assist with instructional tasks, monitor students, help with materials, and support cleaning and organization in the classroom.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days; valid DPS Arizona FPCC clearance is required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists teacher by helping with classroom instruction and working with children during instructional activities.
• Monitors children’s behavior inside and outside of the classroom.
• Assists with clean-up and other related tasks following daily activate.
• Prepares classroom for activities, including organizing assignments and preparing homework folders.
• Attends a variety of meetings and in-service training sessions.
• Creates bulletin boards, maintains materials and supplies, contacts parents and makes copies.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or G.E.D.; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

• Title Schools: 60 hours of secondary education or successful completion of the Paraprofessional test;
• Special Needs: Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
• Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)

KNOWLEDGE

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to odors, extreme temperatures, and intense noises.
