Job summary

CSUB, Department of CEECS, is seeking an Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for the Computer Science program. The ISA will provide instructional support, help with labs, maintain records, manage Canvas, and assist in grading and group activities.

Appointment dates span Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 with 0–20 hours per week. Applicants should have a minimum 3.0 GPA, completed relevant courses with B or higher, and demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive, excellence-driven learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed courses with a B or higher in which opening exists.

  • Provide instructional support to assigned instructors in Geology Science by grading papers in a variety of geology courses or facilitating group work and discussions.

  • Maintain/submit students’ records/grades.
  • Canvas management.
  • Perform individual and/or group academic support.

Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for Computer Science

Position Overview: The Department of CEECS is seeking Instructional Student Assistant applicants for the Computer Science program. The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign ISAs to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made.

Appointment Dates
  • Fall 2026: August 17, 2026 – December 19, 2026
  • Spring 2027: January 20, 2027 – May 26, 2027

Hours: 0-20 hours per week.

Job Duties

  1. Curriculum Vitae (or résumé) – should contain contact information, employment and educational history, skills such as computer programming, familiarity with commonly used computer programs, as well as internships, awards, volunteer service, training and other experience relevant to education.
  2. Current unofficial transcripts from your undergraduate and graduate education. If you have attended more than one institution, combine these transcripts into one document, with each institution clearly indicated.
  3. List of three references – provide first name, last name, type of reference, organization, position title, phone number, and e‑mail address.
  4. Class Schedule and Available Work Schedule.
