Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking an experienced instructional liaison to support teachers in developing effective lesson plans, presenting content, and managing classrooms. The role includes collaborating across teams, participating in curriculum development, and contributing to local assessments and improvement plans.

Demonstrate considerable knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching and curriculum design; demonstrate the ability to deliver and articulate oral presentations and written communication and interact effectively with staff, parents,students and the community; demonstrate a working knowledge of the English language in written and verbal content; demonstrate the responsibility for own professional growth by seeking continuing education and in-service training programs; demonstrate professionalism by working cooperatively with other staff members, using support services when needed, ensuring that oral communications are clear, accurate, and grammatically correct, respecting the confidential nature of professional information, submitting reports accurately and punctually and complying with administrative directives, individual school guidelines and school board policy; demonstrate self-control in the interaction with the school community; demonstrate good work habits to include punctual and regular attendance and efficient use of time.
Required: Bachelor?s Degree. Minimum of five years teaching experience. Special Education assignments require an endorsement in the Special Education field.
A comparable amount of training and experience maybe substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Frequent sitting, walking, bending, grasping, fingering, repetitive motion, and reaching. Occasional standing, stooping, crouching, and driving. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Requires timely and regular adherence to established work schedules. Possession of a valid driver?s license. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Compensation will be based on job-related creditable years of full-time, verified work experience. The entry-level rate will be awarded at the time of hire. Upon the return of employment verification forms from the candidate's current and previous employers, the rate will be adjusted if creditable full-time experience is confirmed.
