Job summary

North Branford Public Schools is hiring an Instructional Paraprofessional for Totoket Valley Elementary School to provide targeted support in mathematics. You will assist with planning, implement intervention programs, and help students develop critical thinking skills.

The ideal candidate should have experience supporting elementary students and a preference for mathematics. This position is part-time, with approximately 32.5 hours of work per week.

Qualifications

• Previous work in mathematics support preferred.

Job Description

• Provide targeted support to individual students or small groups in mathematics, within the school's Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
• Assist with the planning and implementation of intervention programs and instructional activities.
• Support students in developing critical thinking skills, perseverance, and confidence during instruction.
• Work collaboratively with the MTSS/SRBI team & interventionists.
• Support classroom instruction in a general education.
• Monitor student progress, collect, maintain and report student data.
• Communicate with classroom teachers regarding student progress.

Qualifications

• Previous work, especially in mathematics in a school setting is preferred.
• Previous work elementary school students is preferred; and
• Ability to meet applicable academic requirements for Title 1 schools.
