Job summary

Sunnyside Elementary School in Durango, CO is hiring an Instructional Paraeducator for the 26/27 school year. The position is .9375 FTE (37.5 hrs/week), Monday through Friday, with full benefits and an ASAP start. Employee workforce housing is available for the 2026/27 year.

A $1,350 one-time bonus is offered to staff newly hired, prorated if starting late. The role supports teachers, supervises students, and helps implement curriculum and behavioral management.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent (or 2 years college).
• Paraprofessional test (CDE/ESSA qualifications) may be required prior to hire.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and support instructional activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with instructional activities and reinforced curriculum.
• Supervise students during daily activities (cafeteria, playground, hallways, field trips).
• Assist with office duties including phones, records, and报告s.
• Attend building meetings and trainings; engage in ongoing professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
