Job summary

Bibb County Public Schools in Macon, GA, seeks an Assistant Principal for Heritage Elementary School to lead the total school program and provide educational leadership. You will collaborate with the principal to achieve school-wide goals, supervise staff, and coordinate instruction and student services.

Required are a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and GaPSC certification or eligibility, with a 200-day work year and a salary range reflecting certification and experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree required; minimum three years as teacher or instructional coach.
• GaPSC certification in Educational Leadership or eligible to obtain it.
• Ability to obtain clearance from GaPSC.

Responsibilities

• Supports development of the principal’s school-wide vision and leads instructional priorities.
• Provides leadership and coordination in the regular instructional program.
• Works with the principal to set goals and monitors progress toward them.
• Plans a program of study to meet individual needs and enforces school conduct guidelines.
• Supervises the instructional process, schedules observations, and reviews student records.
• Plans and implements school programs, collaborates with staff, and fosters community relationships.
• Identifies and develops teacher leaders through coaching and feedback.
• Acts as in charge when the principal is away; participates in district professional development.
