Job summary

The University of Idaho in Moscow seeks an Instructional Laboratory Coordinator to manage the Physics Educational Laboratories and guide graduate TAs in instructional practices. You will ensure laboratory courses have materials and content for instruction and maintain facilities and equipment used for demonstrations and experiments.

Open to supporting during summer sessions, revising laboratory exercises, preparing course documents, and handling inventory and maintenance tasks as needed.

Position Overview

Coordinates the day-to-day operation of the Physics Educational Laboratories. Supports graduate teaching labs by guiding graduate teaching assistants (TAs) in effective instructional practices and techniques and ensures laboratory courses have adequate materials and content for instruction. Maintains the facilities, equipment and materials used for lecture demonstrations and laboratory experiments. Outside the academic year, duties could include undergraduate laboratory teaching during the summer session, laboratory exercise revision, preparation of course documents for upcoming academic year, inventory and equipment maintenance and other associated duties.

Required Experience

• Experience working with laboratory equipment

• Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
