Position Title: Instructional Facilitator Supervisor: Principal Position Location: Walnut Street Elementary Bargaining Unit: WPEA Bargaining Unit Summary of Position: The Instructional Facilitator's role is to manage the details of the implementation of the Reading and Math instructional programs. The critical elements of the instructional facilitator is to support student and teacher growth, continue to develop program expertise, assist in the development of support systems, serve on the Intervention Team, and ensure that teachers, support staff and the Principal are all coordinating their activities. Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties: Develops program expertise in District REading and Math programsFully participate in training sessions provided by District and Curriculum providers Support teacher growth in programs (reading and math) Ensure reading and math curriculum practices are aligned with PA Common Core State Standards and grade level Eligible Content Hold professional learning community meetings during grade level and/or subject matter meetings Model lessons or parts of lessons Review lesson plans and provide feedback Conduct mini training sessions as needed Order, organize and distribute materials as needed Mentor new teachers in curriculum and instructional practices Assess and monitor student growth Participate in the Continuous Improvement and School Improvement Planning Processes Assist in the development of support systems by supporting the School Principal to schedule instructional blocks, visit classrooms, prepare and/or deliver site based professional development in reading and math and attend and organize twice monthly collaboration meetings. Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to understand and hold self and others accountable for promoting and attaining the goals as outlined in Focus Forward 2025. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, textbooks, and government regulations. Ability to write reports and general correspondence. Ability, both orally and in writing, to present information effectively and respond appropriately to questions and concerns from individuals and groups of educators, administrators, parents, students, and the general public. Ability to always communicate using correct grammar. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and to understand abstract and concrete variables. Ability to use available information and develop realistic long-term and short-term plans for curricular goals. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to the instructional program. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and parents through oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all corporation, state, and federal requirements. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on corporation and school objectives and student needs and abilities. Required Qualifications: Has demonstrated at least proficient instruction over the last three (3) years evidenced by their observation of teaching practice score from a formal observation. Has no unsatisfactory performance concerns documented in applicant’s school and/or human resources personnel file from the past 18 months. Bachelor’s degree.
