Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking an Instructional Designer to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of learning experiences for the Student Success Center within Continuing Education. The role partners with faculty, staff, and subject matter experts to create engaging, accessible materials and to manage projects from concept to implementation.

The position also mentors ID Assistants, oversees compliance with accessibility and copyright standards, and drives innovation

Qualifications

• Proficient with LMS (Blackboard, Canvas, LearningSuite).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Zoom, Live Remote technologies.
• Knowledgeable of live remote instructional design practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design/Instructional Technology.
• Master’s degree in Instructional Design/Instructional Technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of academic support resources for student employees and CE learners.
• Plan and manage design projects from initiation to completion with timelines and budgets.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate Instructional Design Assistants.
• Ensure materials meet accessibility, copyright, and functionality standards and incorporate AI-assisted design workflows.
• Evaluate and integrate third‑party tools and emerging learning technologies.
• Collaborate with CE staff, instructors, and SMEs to align objectives and communicate milestones.
