Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Designer with strong technical acumen in Network Architecture and Data Center Connectivity to develop a modular, interactive eLearning training library focused on the TypeFv1.2 Network Topology for data center infrastructure.

This initiative aims to create an asynchronous, self-paced learning experience that provides a complete knowledge resource for internal teams and Telecom Design Consultant partners onboarding into the Connectivity ecosystem. The selected consultant will be responsible for designing and developing engaging, digestible training modules based on existing technical documentation and SME input.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret detailed technical documentation (concept and construction design packages) to create a structured, modular training syllabus.

  • Design and develop up to 5 interactive eLearning modules (~30 minutes each) using adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.

  • Create multimedia-rich content, including videos, slide decks, simulations, diagrams, and interactive quizzes to assess learner comprehension.

  • Collaborate with SMEs to validate technical accuracy and ensure content is aligned with the real-world application of the TypeFv1.2 network topology.

  • Translate dense, highly technical material into clear, concise, and engaging learning experiences suitable for a mixed audience of technical and non-technical learners.

  • Provide content that is compatible with Google Suite and easily navigable in PDF and REVIT model viewing environments.

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Technical Expertise - Network Architecture & Connectivity

  • Deep understanding of network architecture, telecom infrastructure, and data center connectivity design, including topologies and protocols.

  • Ability to interpret complex design packages and incorporate tertiary connectivity scopes (e.g., DAS, security, building systems).

  • Familiarity with REViT or other design model viewers is required.

2. Instructional Design & Learning Experience

  • Demonstrated experience creating eLearning and onboarding programs for adult learners using ADDIE or similar design models.

  • Understanding of adult learning principles, including self-directed and experiential learning.

  • Experience developing content with clear objectives, assessments, and reinforcement opportunities.

3. Technical Writing & Content Development

  • Strong writing skills to synthesize and translate technical concepts into plain language with appropriate use of terminology.

  • Ability to create varied content formats (e.g., diagrams, analogies, case studies, interactive media) to support diverse learning styles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in telecom or data center design-related industries.

  • Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, or similar.

  • Ability to work independently and manage content development from raw documentation through polished delivery.

  • Strong communicator with a clear, professional, and approachable style.

Additional Details:

  • 100% Virtual Position
  • Modality: Asynchronous eLearning (no ILT)

  • Tools Required: PDF viewers/editors, REVIT model viewers (consultant to provide)

  • Content Sources: 100% of source material provided in written format; SME interviews available as needed

  • Consultant Must Provide: Own laptop, software licenses, and tools

  • AI Tools: Usage TBD based on company policies

  • Proposal Requirement: Selected candidates will be expected to submit a brief proposal outlining their approach to the project, including sample structure, development methodology, and tools they plan to use, as part of the evaluation and selection process.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an Instructional Designer who excels at bridging complex technical domains with engaging learning experiences. If you're passionate about network architecture, instructional design, and digital learning-this role is for you.
