Job Description :

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop learning materials using instructional design principles, focusing on adult learners, hybrid and online classes, and technology integration to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with faculty to implement technology in courses and create technologically mediated courses.
  • Work with departments and faculty to design and deliver hybrid and online courses.
  • Provide support to instructors to maintain course integrity and consistency.
  • Train and support faculty and staff in using LMS and new technologies.
  • Research best practices and technology trends in instructional design.
  • Coordinate with support staff for technology deployment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Education, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of instructional design, online teaching, or training experience; mobile learning experience preferred.
  • Understanding of and commitment to PLNU's spiritual mission.
  • Proficiency in Canvas preferred.
  • Competency in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to quality service and continuous self-improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and active listening.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Evidence of Christian faith and active church involvement, in accordance with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.
  • Successful background check required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sitting for extended periods, using computer equipment, reading on screen and paper, effective communication, and physical activities such as standing, stooping, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
