Job summary

Team Carney, Inc. is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to lead the modernization of USPTO training curriculum. You will write storyboards, scripts, and interactive assessments for 25 eLearning modules in collaboration with agile development teams.

This remote, US-based role requires 4+ years of experience, strong technical writing, and prior government contracting exposure, including USPTO programs; preferred candidates in the DC/MD/VA region.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or English.
• Strong technical writing capabilities.
• Experience turning highly technical, legal, or regulatory documents into digestible course flow.
• Experience in a Government contracting environment; USPTO program experience preferred.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

The Instructional Designer will be a core member of a dynamic team responsible for the comprehensive modernization of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) training curriculum. You will collaborate within the development teams to write storyboards, scripts, and interactive assessments for the 25 target eLearning modules based on the redesigned curriculum.

What You Bring to the Table - Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or English.
• Strong technical writing capabilities.
• Experience turning highly technical, legal, or procedural regulatory documents into digestible course flow.
• Working in a Government contracting environment experience requested.
• Recent USPTO and Patent program experience preferred.
