Job summary

BJU INC is seeking an instructional designer to develop and maintain SCOPE courses under the guidance of the Lead Instructional Designer. The role focuses on designing online learning, aligning content with outcomes, and ensuring accessibility and quality in a biblical worldview.

The candidate should collaborate with course developers, proofread materials, caption videos, and apply instructional best practices across LMS platforms. Onsite work is required.

POSITION SUMMARY: Developsand maintainsSCOPEcoursesas assigned by the Lead Instructional Designer.

PRINCIPAL DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works in collaboration with course developers to design SCOPE course offeringsfollowing the parameters outlined in the course development/revisioncontract.
• Evaluates content to ensure alignment with course learning outcomes
• Makes decisions that support overall course development according to best practices to provide online learners with a high-quality learning experience from a biblical worldview promoting student success
• Applies the principles of teaching and learning to the materials, lesson pages, discussions, learning activities, assessments, etc., for the online environment and places course content, images, and recordings in theBJUOnlineLMS

• Prepares, proofreads, edits, and formats course materials according to educational standards, ensures ADA compliance, and upholdsappropriate researchdocumentation formats (MLA, APA, and Turabian)
• Trims and captions videos
• Performs other tasks as specified by the Lead Instructional Designer
