A community health organization in Detroit is seeking an experienced Instructional Design Specialist to support online education and training initiatives. This role involves designing eLearning materials, conducting training sessions, and ensuring effective learning experiences. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree and three years experience in instructional design, along with skills in graphic design and web technologies.
The Instructional Design Specialist will support online education, web meetings and provide assistance to the Lead AV Technician to aid in the creation, editing, and producing of videos as identified by the Director of Grants and Community Engagement. They will assist staff and community partners engaged in special projects with DWIHN as well as assist in information gathering, coordination of projects, and reports as requested. This role will use learning principles to develop the appearance, organization, and functionality of learning systems and materials. This position reports to the Director of Grants and Community Engagement.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's Degree.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least three (3) years of work experience in instructional design and instructional technology.
Experience must include: Intermediate graphic design, web technology, Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint), Dreamweaver and Photoshop experience.
Experience must also include: teaching, training, and technical writing.
REQUIRED LICENSE(S).
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan. This position can work remotely with supervisory approval. Currently this position is primarily a remote position.
