Job summary

Heartwood Community School is seeking an Instructional Coach to lead literacy or math coaching and provide direct small-group instruction. You will work with the Director of Academics to drive instructional excellence and equity, supporting teachers and students to grow and succeed.

The role emphasizes data-driven planning, professional development, and collaborative leadership to advance school-wide priorities and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Certified educator with at least 3 years of classroom teaching experience in literacy or mathematics.
• Experience with diverse student populations and differentiated instruction.
• Strong coaching and leadership abilities with capacity to empower teachers.
• Reflective practitioner who values feedback and growth.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide job-embedded coaching and feedback on instructional best practices, data analysis, differentiation, and planning.
• Lead model lessons, co-teaching, and classroom observations to build teacher capacity.
• Collaborate with the Director of Academics to align coaching with school priorities.
• Facilitate professional development sessions and data meetings with grade-level teams.
• Support teachers with the implementation of high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials.
• Deliver small-group lessons for interventions or extensions.
• Use formative and diagnostic data to identify students for intervention and enrichment.
• Design and implement individualized learning plans and progress monitors.
• Progress monitor and adjust instruction based on data.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and instructional impact.
• Analyze achievement data with teachers and leaders to identify trends and improvement actions.
• Support a culture of high expectations and academic excellence.
