Position: Instructional Coach
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support teachers in implementing high-quality, evidence-based instruction aligned with the district curriculum, the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, and the science of reading.
2. Facilitate job-embedded coaching cycles, including co-planning, modeling, observation, feedback, and reflective practice to strengthen instructional practice.
3. Collaborate with teachers to analyze assessment data to inform instruction, intervention, and student achievement.
4. Facilitate grade-level and school-based professional learning communities focused on instructional planning, student work, assessment, and continuous improvement.
5. Model effective instructional practices through demonstration lessons, co-teaching, and classroom support.
6. Support the implementation of district instructional materials and evidence-based practices with fidelity while helping teachers meet the needs of diverse learners.
7. Collaborate with teachers, interventionists, specialists, administrators, and other instructional staff to strengthen Tier 1 instruction and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
8. Partner with the content Coordinator and principals to support consistent implementation and ongoing refinement of the district's literacy curriculum, instructional resources, and assessments.
9. Participate in instructional walkthroughs, district professional learning, and other collaborative activities that support continuous instructional improvement.
10. Perform other duties related to curriculum, instruction, and professional learning as assigned by the Building Principal or Coordinator.
Terms and Conditions of Employment: Salary in accordance with the Agreement between the Norwood School Committee and the Norwood Teachers' Association Group (Unit A). 184 work days. This position is grant funded and contingent upon the annual availability and continuation of grant funds. Renewal of the position is subject to grant funding and district needs.
