Honoring every child’s unique journey, we bridge home and school to foster a compassionate, empowering environment where students feel seen and valued.

Our mission goes beyond academics. We guide students to become resilient problem-solvers, compassionate community builders, globally minded citizens, emotionally intelligent leaders, and lifelong learners. Embracing mistakes as part of growth, we equip students to thrive in school and life—ready to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.

THE ROLE

The Instructional Coach supports high-quality teaching and learning by partnering with educators to strengthen instructional practices, increase student engagement, and improve academic outcomes. The Instructional Coach provides individualized and team-based coaching through classroom observations, modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, feedback, and reflective conversations. Using student performance data, curriculum standards, and evidence-based instructional practices, the coach helps teachers identify areas for growth, implement differentiated strategies, strengthen classroom management, and design rigorous, responsive learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of all students.

The position fosters a culture of continuous improvement by building trusting relationships with educators and creating meaningful opportunities for professional learning and collaboration. This role facilitates professional development, supports curriculum and instructional initiatives, analyzes schoolwide and classroom-level data, and works collaboratively with school leadership to identify instructional priorities and monitor progress. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator and instructional leader who demonstrates strong content knowledge, effective communication and coaching skills, a growth mindset, and a commitment to Heartwood Community School’s whole-child approach and mission.

    • Facilitate professional development sessions and data meetings with grade-level teams.
    • Support teachers with the implementation of high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials.
  • Student-Focused Instructional Support
    • Deliver small-group lessons for students who need either targeted interventions or academic extensions.
    • Use multiple forms of data, including formative and diagnostic assessments, to identify students for intervention and enrichment.
    • Design and implement individualized learning plans for students in need of academic support or accelerated learning.
    • Progress monitors student achievement and adjusts instruction accordingly.
