Job description

About K12 Coalition

K12 Coalition provides products and services that help K-12 schools and teachers achieve transformational learning outcomes. We tackle many of today’s toughest education obstacles, including teacher certification, test preparation, professional learning, curriculum, consulting, and strategic planning. K12 Coalition came together when educators with deep experience as teachers, school leaders and high-level district administrators observed a genuine need for something better. Our divisions include iteach, Teaching Channel, Insight Education Group and Lavinia Group.

About iteach

iteach is a competency-based educator preparation program helping to fill the void the nation faces with the unprecedented teacher shortage. iteach enables paraprofessionals, substitute teachers, and others seeking to become teachers to get the affordable, time-saving education they need to become licensed. Our program combines the convenience of online learning with a full year of face-to-face mentorship during a teaching residency. Notably, iteach is the only non-university educator preparation program to achieve accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

Location:Remote, available from anywhere within the U.S.

Employment: Part-Time Variable Position - less than 20 hours per week, with variable hours depending on seasonal demand.

The Opportunity

As an Instructional Coach at iteach, you will play a crucial role in supporting new teachers as they transition from the iteach alternative certification program into their first classrooms. New teachers entering the classroom for the first time benefit from your guidance as they develop their instructional skills and build confidence in their teaching practice.

In this role, you will provide targeted coaching, feedback, and mentorship to ensure these teachers develop the instructional skills and classroom strategies needed to succeed. Through online learning platforms, discussion boards, and live coaching sessions, you will help bridge the gap between theory and practice, fostering a supportive learning environment where new teachers can refine their craft, address challenges, and celebrate successes.

The Instructional Coach reports to the Manager, Instruction.

This position is part of our candidate pipeline, meaning we are building a pool of qualified applicants to consider as business needs arise. We will reach out to candidates as opportunities become available.

If you are committed to empowering the next generation of educators and want to be part of a team that champions teacher success, we would love to hear from you!

Summary of Commitment

A small investment of your time can make a lasting impact on new teachers!

  • Flexible, part-time commitment with a mix of asynchronous and synchronous support.
  • Engage with new teachers through blended online coaching, discussion boards, and one-on-one support.
  • Provide meaningful feedback by grading assignments and offering constructive insights.
  • Host virtual huddle sessions via Zoom to facilitate collaboration and professional growth.
  • Support teachers for at least two semesters, ensuring they build confidence and competence in the classroom.

By dedicating just a few hours per month, you will help new teachers navigate their first year with the guidance, encouragement, and expertise they need to thrive.

Qualifications

  • Current teacher, instructional coach, instructor, or school administrator.
  • Active state-specific teaching certification in one of the eligible states (see below).
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience, with a strong understanding of instructional best practices.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting new teachers in their first years of teaching.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and virtual coaching tools (preferred).
  • Strong communication and feedback skills to guide new teachers in their professional growth.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative learning environment for educators at the start of their careers.

To be considered for this role, you must be currently teaching and hold an active state-specific certification. Eligibility is limited to the state where you are certified and currently teaching.
