Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Merrillville, IN seeks a paraeducator to support teachers in planning learning experiences, prep materials, and assist with classroom routines. The role focuses on tutoring students, monitoring learning, and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher.
• Assist in planning learning experiences for the students.
• Assist in the production of instructional materials and use of technology.
• Assist in implementing classroom routines.
• Assist in instruction-related clerical tasks including scoring of student products.
• Work with students on activities, while the teacher works with small groups of students.
• Assist with monitoring student learning.
• Tutor students to strengthen skills or concepts under the supervision of the teacher.
• Confer regularly with the classroom teacher about the programs and achievement of each student.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information/data.
• Help with the planning and implementation of after school parent meetings.
• Successful interview with Building Principal
• Perform other related duties as directed by teacher and/or principal.
