Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) in Arizona is seeking an Instructional Assistant One on One for Special Education at Crismon High School. You will support the teacher with individualized student goals and reinforce learning in small groups.

This 187-day, 9-month position is hourly, 35 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 7:00 am–2:30 pm). The role supports lunch, recess, bus duties, and classroom routines, with duties aligned to district priorities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent attendance record
• Must have, or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification and keep certifications current
• Must be able to bend and lift 30 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
• Must pass a background clearance
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or groups to reinforce learning objectives
• Guides independent study, enrichment, and remedial work as directed by the teacher
• Checks class work, grades papers, and supervises testing as assigned
• Serves as primary contact for substitutes in absence of regular teacher
• Alerts the teacher to issues and needs in the classroom
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical behavior consistent with teachers
• Participates in in-service training programs as required
• Assists students with lunch, snack, recess, and cleanup routines
• Meets students at the bus each morning and escorts them to the bus in the afternoon
• Assists with wash-up and toilet routines, including diaper changes
• Operates and maintains classroom equipment and assistive technology
• Provides student supervision across school settings
• Directs parent questions to the classroom teacher
• Performs other duties to support district priorities

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skillsintroduced by the teacher.
• Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the classroom teacher.
• Checks class work, grade papers and supervise testing as assigned by the teacher.
• Serves as the chief source of information and help any substitute teacher assigned in the absenceof the regular teacher.
• Alerts the classroom teacher to any problems.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as is expectedof teachers.
• Participates in in-service training programs as required.
• Assists students with lunch, snack, recess and cleanup routines.
• Meets students at the bus each morning and take them to the bus in the afternoon.
• Assists students with wash-up and toilet routines, including changing diapers.
• Operates and care for equipment and assistive technology used in the classroom.
• Assists with student supervision in all school settings.
• Refers all parent questions/concerns directly and immediately to classroom teacher.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
