Southwest Allen County Metropolitan School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Mild Intervention for Haverhill Elementary School. This nine-month, part-time role provides 5.5 hours per day (plus a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch) with no benefits, starting ASAP.

Pay ranges from $16.58 to $24.67 per hour and is based on experience and education. The position supports the Mild Disabilities teacher and collaboration with general education staff within an integrated program.

Qualifications

Terms of Employment

Qualifications

Completion of two years of study (60+ hours) at an institution of higher education or possession of an associate's (or higher) degree is preferred. Previous experience as a classroom assistant desirable. Candidates must have a sincere interest in working with students in the learning process. Effective communication skills. Ability to take direction. Initiative and dependability in carrying out assignments. Patience and genuine interest in education of students. Awareness and respect for student diversity. Clerical skills, flexibility, and confidentiality required. Training for this position will be implemented upon hiring.
