Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking an Instructional Assistant(s) district-wide. The role supports classroom teachers with individual and group instruction, testing, and assessment procedures, and provides IEP support and behavior management to students.

This 10-month position offers 6.5 hours per day (excluding a 30-minute unpaid lunch). Shifts vary by level: Elementary 8:30–3:30, Middle 7:40–2:40, High 7:30–2:30.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of college or 48 credits.
• Ability to implement specially designed instruction and behavior support plan within a child's IEP.
• Ability to follow professional directives to support the child in the school environment.
• Effective interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and a desire to work with children.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing individual and group instruction, testing and assessment procedures.
• Provide IEP support and carry out behavior management plans.
• Follow directives to support the child in the school environment.
• Ensure student safety across all environments.
• Assist in other areas as requested by the classroom teacher and Pupil Services.
