Job summary

Providence Elementary School is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support classroom teachers, foster a positive learning environment, and promote student engagement in a full-time role in Kentucky.

Summary

This full-time position requires a commitment to student success and collaboration with educators, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities
  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
  • Support individual and small group instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and reinforcement as necessary.
  • Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom environment.
  • Assist with the assessment and evaluation of student performance.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt instructional strategies for students with varying abilities.
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to support student learning.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as record-keeping and filing.
Requirements
  • 42 college credit hours or passing the paraeducator exam if the candidate does not have 42 college hours.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
