Job summary

University of Mississippi invites applications for two full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track instructional faculty positions in the CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program. Responsibilities include graduate-level didactic instruction and mentoring students through clinical education.

Seeking two full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track instructional faculty positions in the CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program. Provides graduate-level didactic instruction, mentors students through clinical education, and engages in service. One or both hires may be asked to assume Program Director and/or Director of Clinical Education (Clinical Education Coordinator) administrative responsibilities. Assistant or Associate level is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Terminal degrees in a related field will be considered (e.g. PhD, EdD, DAT, etc.)

Job Description

Faculty members in this category are hired primarily to perform a limited range of duties. Non-Tenure Track Faculty members are usually assigned teaching or service roles. Non-Tenure Track Faculty members may contribute to the University beyond this narrow definition, but their promotion guidelines and annual reviews should emphasize the principal duties. Certain faculty with professorial titles in these categories can be permanent employees and can expect to be offered annual contracts, unless termination notices are provided in a timely manner as outlined in the Termination of Non-Tenured Faculty Policy. Visiting Faculty, Faculty Fellows, Adjunct Faculty, or Artists/Writers-in-Residence are generally considered temporary employees. For these latter appointments, the employment period must be specified in the employment notification and renewal of their appointments is at the discretion of the University.
