Job description

SUMMARY: Works directly with an assigned classroom teacher(s) to assist in the Special Education instructional program.

Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent + two years of college OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent + AA degree or higher OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent + have a passing score of 70% on the District academic proficiency test

Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation. Bilingual-biliterate English/Spanish desirable. Experience working with students in a school or recreational setting desirable. Experience working with students with special needs and with parents is desirable.

Application Process
  1. Apply on Edjoin.org or notify the Personnel Office through a letter of intent or Edjoin for CSEA Chapter 575 unit members. The application will be kept on file for the current school year or until retracted.
  2. Submit a résumé.
  3. Provide two signed and dated letters of recommendation (within one year).
  4. Upload unofficial transcripts; sealed transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
  5. Obtain First Aid/CPR Certifications within 90 days of hiring.
  6. Complete and provide proof of Mandated Reporter Training (Personnel Training AB1432) at the time of hire. Online training available at www.mandatedreporterca.com.
