Job summary

Uintah School District is seeking an Instructional Aide for Vernal Middle School. This position is part-time, up to 29.5 hours per week, and is a voucher position with no benefits. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities include assisting with the education of assigned students, creating a flexible learning environment, and collaborating with staff, parents, and community members. A High School Diploma is required, and a ParaPro option or an Associate's degree is accepted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate's degree or 48 college hours OR ParaPro test.
• Experience with at-risk students preferred but not mandatory.

• Care for education of assigned students.
• Create flexible programs and environments conducive to learning.
• Relate positively with students, staff, parents, and community.
• Assist with data collection.
• Assist with recess and/or bus duty as needed.
• Work cooperatively with staff to ensure a safe, productive environment.
• Other duties as assigned by school administrator.

District Expectations for Classroom Aides:

• Be responsible for the education of assigned students;
• Create a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth;
• Relate positively with students, staff, parents, and community;
• Assist with data collection;
• Assist with recess and/or bus duty as needed;
• Work cooperatively with all staff to insure a comfortable and pleasant working environment that will be conducive to learning and will encourage safety and good relationships;
• Other duties as assigned by school administrator.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma;
• Experience working with at-risk students preferred but notmandatory;
• Must hold Associate's degree or have 48 semester hours of college credit OR must have passed or be willing to pass the ParaPro test immediately upon hire.
