Job summary

The Richardson School is seeking an Instructional Aide to join the Cudahy team. You will care for students directly, focusing on education, therapeutic/behavioral support, and hygiene as needed.

Strong relationship-building and teamwork are essential to support students with significant needs and behavioral concerns. Responsibilities include documenting data, applying approved techniques, and implementing IEP-based programs under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
• At least one year of experience working with special needs students preferred
• Ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain self-control
• Effective working alone and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Meet with classroom teacher or supervisor to discuss daily activities, academics, behavioral support, social and medical concerns
• Complete and submit paperwork, instructional data, and behavior data as scheduled
• Use agency-approved treatment techniques in supervising and educating students after training
• Familiarity with behavior management strategies used at TRS
• Act as a role model for students, staff and the community
• Work with IEP resources to implement students’ academic program under direction of teacher
• Engage students in active learning as directed by teacher
• Provide support for staff in the classroom and uphold Education Department policies
