Job summary

Waco ISD is seeking an Instructional Aide to assist teachers in planning and managing classroom activities and administrative tasks. The role operates under the supervision of certified teachers to ensure instruction runs smoothly.

The position requires interaction with students, parents, and staff, with duties including preparing materials, supervising activities, and helping with testing administration. Experience with children is preferred and a Texas educational aide certificate is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college hours required.
• Para Professional Institute Certificate required.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction of students under direct supervision of teacher.
• Conduct instructional exercises with individuals or small groups.
• Assist in classroom management.
• Conduct parent involvement activities.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective tests or classwork.
• Maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and required reports.
• Offer orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground duties.
• Inform teacher of any special needs or problems.
