Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide at Lake Erie Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio. The role assists the Teacher with classroom activities, promotes positive student behaviors, and helps with school events, clerical duties, and technology use to support a safe, engaging learning environment for EK-8 students.

Qualifications include an associate degree or two years of college, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to meet educational standards.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Associate degree or two years of college coursework or Paraprofessional’s Exam completed.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines with consistency.
• Ability to manage confidential information and maintain discretion.
• High quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups of students.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports Teacher in student/parent relations.
• Assists with school activities and chaperones events as needed.
• Performs clerical duties, including grading papers and making copies.
• Assists the Teacher in the use of classroom technology.
• Supports maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment.
• Follows the school's philosophy and mission in all activities.
