Job summary

Kerrville Independent School District seeks a Special Education / Autism Aide to support students at Starkey Elementary School. You will assist with IEP implementation, behavior support, self-help skills, and instructional activities under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Responsibilities include managing student behavior, assisting during lunch, bus, and recess, and maintaining confidentiality while following district safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Assist assigned students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of assigned student(s).

Primary Purpose

Help meet physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside classroom. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher.

Salary

$16.10 - $22.90 (Yearly: $22,580 - $32,117)

*Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications: Education/Certification
