Job summary

ACCEL Schools Northwest School of the Arts in Cleveland, Ohio is seeking an Instructional Aide to support the Teacher with classroom activities and to promote positive student behavior in both academics and extracurriculars.

This role includes supervising students, assisting with lesson plans, handling clerical tasks, helping with classroom technology, and contributing to a safe, welcoming school climate in line with ACCEL Schools policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the Paraprofessional’s Exam completed.
• Proficiency in MS Office and classroom technology.
• Ability to pass BCI/FBI check.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift 25–40 lbs and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups.
• Help plan classroom activities and assist with student/parent relations.
• Participate in school activities and events (meetings, field trips, chaperoning).
• Perform clerical tasks such as grading papers and copying.
• Assist the teacher in using classroom technology and maintaining a clean space.
• Uphold the school's philosophy and policies in daily activities.
