As an Instructional Aide, you will support students by implementing their individualized education programs (IEPs), using group and individual instruction, and assisting classroom staff.

  • Assist teachers in creating a safe, welcoming environment with high expectations for learning.
  • Implement curriculum and behavioral strategies aligned with student goals.
  • Monitor and instruct students during lessons, ensuring fidelity and using effective instructional strategies.
  • Track student progress, communicate with teachers, and support behavioral and academic development.
  • Manage student behavior according to policies, collaborating with teachers for consistency.
  • Support students' social, vocational, and community skills development.
  • Complete documentation and reports on student behavior and progress.
  • Communicate with students, staff, and parents regarding student needs and progress.
  • Maintain confidentiality and participate in accreditation and meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with passing basic skills test.
  • Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
  • Current or pending paraprofessional or teaching assistant credential preferred.
  • Experience working with children, especially in special education.
  • Skilled in working with students with autism, behavioral disorders, or challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.
  • Strong communication, organization, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology, Microsoft Office, and basic office equipment.
