Starting Rate: $18 - $22 /hour based on experience

As an Instructional Aide, you will provide supervision and instruction to students in Grades K-12 and support classroom staff. You will help implement individualized education programs (IEPs) using group and individual instruction in classroom and community settings.

Responsibilities Include:
  1. Assist classroom teachers to create a safe, welcoming environment with high expectations for student learning.
  2. Implement curriculum instruction and behavioral strategies aligned with each student's goals.
  3. Instruct and monitor students during lessons, ensuring fidelity and applying instructional strategies to meet course requirements.
  4. Track and communicate student progress and interventions to teachers.
  5. Manage student behavior according to policies, working collaboratively with teachers for consistency.
  6. Support students academically and socially, encouraging improvement in various skills.
  7. Complete documentation on student behavior and report observations to relevant staff.
  8. Prepare behavioral reports and activity logs as needed.
  9. Communicate with students, staff, and parents about progress and needs.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of student records.
  11. Participate in accreditation and performance processes.
  12. Attend meetings and respond to feedback.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with basic skills test passing.
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Must meet one of the following:
    - 60 college credits completed
    - Praxis Paraprofessional test passed
    - Current or pending paraprofessional credential
  • Experience working with children, especially in special education.
  • Skills in working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral challenges.
  • Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies.
  • Strong communication, organization, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology and office equipment.
