Starting Rate: $18 /hour

Role Overview: As an Instructional Aide, you will support students' success by providing personalized assistance, supervising activities, and collaborating with educators to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Your work will help students develop skills and confidence to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Collaborate with teachers to create a safe, welcoming, and high-achieving learning environment.
  2. Implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions both on-site and in community settings.
  3. Monitor students during lessons, ensuring fidelity to instructional strategies.
  4. Track student progress, communicate with teachers about successes and areas needing support.
  5. Manage student behavior effectively, applying disciplinary measures in collaboration with staff.
  6. Support students facing academic challenges, helping develop community, vocational, leisure, and social skills.
  7. Document student behaviors and performance accurately and timely.
  8. Assist in preparing behavioral reports and activity logs.
  9. Communicate proactively with students, colleagues, and families about student needs and achievements.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of student records.
  11. Participate in accreditation and school-wide activities to support educational outcomes.
  12. Engage in meetings with parents and staff to foster collaboration.
  13. Respond constructively to feedback and pursue professional growth.
  14. Perform additional duties as needed to support student success.

Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with passing scores on basic skills tests.
  • Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a valid state driver's license.
  • Paraprofessional or similar credential preferred.
  • Experience working with children, especially in special education settings.
  • Skilled in working with children with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, or challenging behaviors.
  • Comfortable driving or riding in a van with students.
  • Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.
  • Proficiency in motivating students and conducting critical conversations.
  • Strong communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology, Microsoft Office, and basic office equipment.
